Water Quality in Small-Scale Coffee Production Units, Amazonas, Peru

The objective of this researchwas to determine water quality in small-scale coffee production units theAmazon Region, Peru. characterization the factors associated with coffeefarmers was collected through surveys. Standard Methods for Examinationof Water and Wastewater (APHA) method used physicochemicaland microbiological parameters incoming (AE) (water humanconsumption) outgoing (AS) (wastewater from washing). results indicated that growersdo not have adequate technology washing they use waterfor these activities. In water, significantdifferences were found between AE AS, where thepH ranged 7.00 7.32 pH AS 3.76 4.44.The turbidity showed high values 1814.47 NTU. Total Coliforms (TC)and heavy metals such as copper chromium all increased value up 0.20and 0.15 ppm compared AE. characteristics waterquality consumed by growers are poor above Peruvianstandards found.
